I asked Gayle Bailey II to talk about his community involvement and career as a successful and influential real estate agent in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
Q&A with Gayle Bailey II, The Bailey Team – Residential and Commercial Real Estate Professionals
Why did you decide to become a real estate agent and join your parents’ real estate team in Chantilly, VA?
What do you like about being a real estate agent?
Congratulations on being named a Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce 2013 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award Winner and for being recognized as the 2013 Emerging Influential of the Year.
What are some of the organizations you are involved in which have led to your receiving this prestigious recognition?
I am an avid supporter of Langley Residential Support Services. Langley in a nonprofit which serves adults with intellectual disabilities through providing quality residential and community support services to enable individuals to live valued and productive lives. I have served on the Board of Directors for Langley Residential Support Services for the past four years while simultaneously holding other various leadership roles including Operations Committee Chair, Sponsorship Chair, and Executive Committee Chair. This year also marks the fourth year I have coached Langley’s Special Olympics basketball team and the fourth year the team has made it to the state championship tournament!
Through my involvement with my church, I was introduced to Young Life Capernaum. I have been a member of the executive committee for Young Life Capernaum for the past two years and I am currently the head committee chair. Young Life Capernaum is Christian organization that gives teenagers and young adults with disabilities the opportunity to develop fun and fulfilling relationships while having fun and developing self-esteem.
Since 2012, I have been a member of the Future Fund of Community Foundation. The Future Fund is a giving circle made up of 100 young professionals. Together we learn about the critical needs of our region, and donate to philanthropic causes we care about most which in turn benefits where we live and work. In addition to being a member, I was a part of the event and gala committee, where I helped to plan, fundraise for, and execute 2012 Fundraising Gala.
Over the past three years I have also volunteered time and resources for the Southgate Community Outreach, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, as a George Mason Honors College Facilitator, and a member of the Emerging Leaders Selection Committee.
Tell us a little bit about your personality and the type of activities you pursue for fun.
The Bailey Team is a top performing real estate team headed by your parents. What are some of the key steps they have taken along the way to grow their real estate business?

What would you say are your real estate niches?
Tell us about the roles of the people that are part of The Bailey Team. Explain how the team handles a large number of real estate transactions, networking, offline and online marketing responsibilities.

What are some of the ways that you market The Bailey Team?
We market The Bailey Team through several different avenues. Our listings go out to all of the major search engines, many as “Featured” Listings. This allows us to gain maximum exposure for our clients, generally selling our properties quicker, for the most amount of money!
We also have a large social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Plus) with our Facebook fan page being the center (www.facebook.com/Baileys4u). Our state of the art website was just re-launched (www.Bailey-Team.com) and allows visitors to search properties and learn about different communities and neighborhoods right from our page!
We look forward to expanding the blog function with several different publications, including “Featured Friday” where we will feature one of our listings every week. We have also been featured in many publications both local and national.
